“Towards a Shared Historical Narrative”

2006 kicked off with an interesting and topical presentation from Dr. Julie Higashi, Professor of Social Sciences at Ritsumeikan University. Julie discussed how Japan's attitudes toward history, such as visits to Yasukuni Shrine and editing of school history texts, has affected and is still affecting Japan's relationships with her neighboring countries.
