Discovering the Potential of Machiya

Join us for an engaging evening exploring the charm of traditional machiya townhouses. Our guest speaker, Sandra Isaka, has renovated two machiya homes in Kyoto and now helps others do the same through her new concierge service for second-home buyers. She’ll share her experience of finding and restoring these historic homes, introduce her warm “American Wa-Modern” design style, and show how a restored machiya can be both livable and inspiring. Whether you're curious about Japanese architecture or looking for design ideas, this is a unique opportunity to see machiya in a whole new light.
